Your 4 month old loves watching shadows on a wall. Of course they love bright lights and singing. Just sing to them instead and read some stories. It is not hard to entertain a 4 month old. You can read the research that tells you its bad for them.

Its definitely hard to figure out what will keep any learning and overstimulated baby will find entertainment from. From my experience with my little brother (4yo) and now my own little one is that letting them watch age appropriate things is perfectly fine. Expecially if your overstimulated/overwhelmed. What you can try and do is join in and make what they're watching more enjoyable by singing with it while clapping to the rythem or doing dance moves with them on your lap while the sound of the tv is on.
My little one loves when I sing and clap to the rhythm of the ABCs as well as me "rowing" him back and forth while singing row row row your boat.
Sorry this was so long lol I just want to put it in writing that tv is not a bad thing with babys/toddlers as it helps them learn just as much 😅

Honestly its boring. You rotate between reading...Singing songs...tummy time...and feeding. And then back to sleep. Its boring but its how you entertain them they dont need a lot. You go for walks. You take them to swim. You walk around a mall.

My 5 month old loves dancing fruits too but i only play it when i do her hair and need her to stay still which only takes me like 5-10 mins, u should definitely limit screen time because it can be bad for their development
