Elective C-section.

Anyone still undecided on what delivery you want?

Ive had 2 awful births so I thought an elective would be the only way to take some control but I’m sooo nervous about having one. The recovery with a small child is gonna be hard & I’m scared of getting an infection or bleeding out on the operating table 😩

Why is it such a hard decision? I keep going over the pros and cons of each but still can’t decide, I’ve spoken to midwives/consultants/friends… nothing is helping..

Recovery with a small child- yes it will be really hard for a few weeks, have you got support to help you in this time? Risk of infection or bleeding out- think how many times a day this is performed at your local hospital and then every other hospital across the UK and even the world. Its another day in the office for them like a dentist doing a filling, they know what to look out for and how to deal with any complications which are so rare nowadays especially with planned sections as there's no rush. Even if something did go wrong you're in the best place for it to happen with professionals and medications within centimeters of you. I'm having a planned section in 3 weeks after a traumatic first birth, I feel far more in control this way x

I had an elective c section previously and will be having one this time. Mine was amazing previously, do you have a good support system for after the birth, to gelp with driving etc and looking after little one for the first few weeks?

My only bad thing this tike is that I'm 38 weeks and still don't have a date x

I’m sorry you’re having such a tough time deciding!

I had an elective with my second, and I’m doing the same this time. If it helps, my experience was lovely. Everything was very calm and controlled, I lost very little blood (I haemorrhaged with my vaginal birth), and baby was out within 2 minutes of the first incision.

Recovery wasn’t too bad (my eldest was 2 at the time) as long as I kept up with medicine, and I found it harder tool recover from forceps/episiotomy.

If you do go ahead with a vaginal birth then more power to you! I think that’s so brave, but if you’re really considering an elective try to remember that most of the horror stories are from emergency sections which have often already involved a difficult labour and trauma - you won’t have any of that x

Anyone had to sign a contest form for their c section? And go through loads of risk factors of the surgery? I have mine tomorrow and had to do all that, I’m now terrified lol

11 weeks pp and pregnant?!

Im absolutely shitting myself, me and my partner have been so carefull (we use condoms and he also pulls out) but im late on my period and i cant get to the shop for a few days due to no car and im thinking im possibly pregnant. When i was pregnant before the animals were different the dog became more protective of me and the cat hated me and always tried to bite me. and they have recently been the same. Im trying to think if i have any possible early symptoms so i can convince myself im not 😂 the only thing i have is feeling sick alot and nauseous lol.

Is this dress yes or a no?

We are going to Japan for 3 weeks in July and 13 of those days we are on a cruise. There is a bunch of formal nights and formal events and for some of them I’m doing a 80’s glam theme. I already got the dresses for those but I’m looking for some fun and fancy dresses that aren’t vintage also. I’ve been eyeing this particular dress for MONTHS. I kind of love it, but I think it might also be too weird 😆. What do you think?

Pelvic girdle pain and birth

I have been experiencing awful pain. More so recently. I'm now using crutches to get around but it's more painful at night and when I lay down or sit down. I'm worried about birthing. I've got other issues and baby boy is estimating 8pounds at 36 weeks. I've been booked in for an induction 9 days prior to my due date. Surely he's going to be even bigger and I just don't feel like I've had any birth discussions in detail really. Ive only seen midwife twice and each time I've seen a consultant it's someone different. Has anyone else experienced awful pelvic pain and birthed a big baby?
