Too much pressure! I’m a teacher. Building phonological skills is going to be way more beneficial down the line. We read every night and I will ask her to find me a certain word in a title or have her tell me the next word if it’s a rhyming word. Reading together builds so may skills you don’t even realize which is going to be super helpful down the line. But I wouldn’t start making her try to blend words together yet.
