Do you go to the doctor for a fever?

My boy is sick and has had a fever on and off for the past 24 hours or so. I’m debating bringing him to the doctor - I feel like they don’t do much at this stage other than tell me to make sure he’s eating and drinking (which he is). Do you bring your little one to the doctor every time a fever pops up?

Personally, no I don't. Unless it's not responding to meds, there's trouble breathing, no wet diaper in 8 hours, fever lasts more than a few days, or there are signs of an ear infection - I know the answer I'll get is "it's a virus they'll fight it off."
Hope he feels better soon!

If it gets over 103 I do. Usually they’ll send you home otherwise

Yes I would right now. My little one has been hospitalized all week for RSV and pneumonia and I have been told most of the ward is kids in the same situation

Only if it won’t stay down
