C-section vs vaginal birth

I’d love to hear from moms who have had both a C-section and a vaginal birth. Which experience & recovery was easier for you, and which would you choose again?

With my first baby, I was in labor a long time and ended up needing an emergency C-section because her head was stuck. It was 3 years ago, and I honestly don’t fully remember how hard the recovery was. I remember the first few days being rough, especially getting out of bed and going to the bathroom, but after that it’s kind of a blur, so I’m wondering if I’m forgetting how hard it really was.

One thing that also scares me is that during my C-section, I needed two spinal shots because the first one didn’t fully work. That was really stressful for me, especially because they tell you how important it is to stay completely still while they do it. The idea of having to go through that again with a planned C-section makes me really nervous.

At the same time, I’m also scared of vaginal birth because of the possibility of bad tearing.

I also have a 3-year-old now, which I didn’t have during my first recovery, so I’m wondering how much harder C-section recovery is with a toddler at home, especially if my husband only has about a week off and I’ll mostly be on my own after that.

Part of me likes the idea of a planned C-section because it feels more predictable—I’d know exactly when it’s happening, could plan childcare, and likely be away from my daughter for a shorter, more set amount of time. But part of me thinks this is probably my last baby and I might feel sad if I never experience a vaginal birth.

If you’ve had both, which would you recommend and why?

Would you take your almost 4 yr old to a birthday party at an indoor play place during spring break, with a 10 week old baby?

I know it will be crowded as heck since it’s during spring break. I’ll be holding my 10 week old the whole time but nervous that we might get sick from being inside with all those people for so long

Hormone drip

I’m being induced on Wednesday, with my first baby I was induced but I can’t remember if I had the hormone drip as I was so out of it from gas and air and pethidine.

Can I refuse it this time? As I’ve heard it makes contractions more painful, or can I say if I do need the hormone drip, I will need an epidural can the 2 coincide?

christening/naming ceremony

did anyone have a christening or naming ceremony for their little one? what would you recommend? my boy is 2 months old so i’m not thinking right this second but i want to do something for him. i was baptised as a baby although i don’t follow a religion as of current. it will be my family and friends attending as the father isn’t involved, but that still adds up to a pretty decent turn out. what was everyone’s experiences? tell me everything!

Breech or Head down

How can I tell if my baby is still breech? At 31 weeks she was completely breech and I’m unsure on how to tell if she’s flipped head down or not?
