Losing mucas plug after sweep

To anyone who's previously been pregnant, I'm after some insight please.

I'm 39+1 today and I had a sweep on Friday and I've been losing my mucas plug all day today each time I go to the toilet. I know that losing the plug doesn't necessarily mean labour is going to be soon but I wondered if that 'rule' changed at all after a sweep or can it still be days/weeks away.

Thank you 😊

I had a sweep, started to loose my mucus plug over the next two days and then my waters went randomly but contractions/ labour didn’t start on its own x

With my first I had a sweep and lost my mucus plug the next day, I went into labour a day later but it was a false labour. They don't talk about this enough but sweeps can bring on false labours as well as real ones and they can feel very very real and it can be very disappointing if they stall. If this does happen, try to go into an oxytocin bubble, get the good hormones flowing, try not to freak out. It can be a bit on and off and irregular after a sweep, I wish I was told this because I found it so disheartening at the time. Just try to roll with it and treat yourself to lots of happy hormone boosting things 💕

Never had a sweep but with all 3 of mine the mucus plug coming meant things had basically started. Thing is we’re all different so for me clearly that’s like the starting bell but not for all. If anything I’d say a sweep may be more likely to cause the plug to come away without labour occurring at all.

April 2nd baby 💙

I was due on April 2nd and baby boy arrived at 39 weeks after a positive induction on gas and air, too late for an epidural and 48 minutes in labour. 💙

Should I talk to someone about this?

Yesterday the nurse came to remove my staples and look at baby. She said she has blood under her scalp on one side. Likely from the use of a vacuum. The hospital NEVER told me and I was awake during the c section. I called the nursing line and they confirmed that a vacuum was used.

My mom also said she overheard them say they had to repair something from my last c section but the nursing line says they have no notes.

I'm really upset. They talked about informed consent but they never told me about the vacuum or what to expect after.

The nurse who came to my house told me should could become jaundice as the blood under her scalp absorbs and I will need to wake her for feeds.

Suspected Food Poisoning

I'm currently 28 weeks and away on holiday. Yesterday I made the mistake of eating a hot dog from one of the all inclusive trucks that are dotted around the pool areas (I know dumb choice). After about an hour I got super nauseous and uncomfortable. I tried to rest it off but it just lingered, I felt lethargic and went down for some dinner, I got as far as eating two pieces of cucumber and I couldn't put my finger on the feeling but my stomach was uncomfortable and I felt like crying - I didn't feel well at all. After attempting the third bit of cucumber I darted for the toilets as I felt sick or maybe needed to open my bowels (which I already had an hour before and it was normal). Anyway, turns out it was both. I vomited a large amount and went to the toilet multiple times. I cleaned myself up and sipped fresh water for a couple of hours before going to sleep. I also managed an orange and a couple of dry non sweet biscuits. I haven't visited the toilet overnight again but my stomach does occasionally get a wave of nausea. Baby has been active all evening through this, was active at night for a bit and seems to have started some wriggles this morning. Do I need to go find a hospital/maternity unit and get checked or do I just wait and see how I feel today? I'm hoping being able to hold something over night is a good sign. I also have gestational diabetes so am a little worried about my blood sugar dropping or not keeping it steady. Any advice would be appreciated.

Early Scans

How long did people wait for early scan, did a test last week and said 1-2 weeks pregnant, is this too early for a scan?
