Induction?

I went to triage today with reduced movements. Baby moved while on monitor but this is my second time with reduced movements in 3 weeks. Currently 35w6d. I’ve been referred for an emergency scan. I really want to go into labour naturally, are they going to want to induce me?

You can absolutely say no to an induction and keep monitoring your little one (I'm in the same boat and I'm now 38 weeks) 🙏🏼

Given you have had reduced movement i doubt they will induce you, more likely recommend an emergency c section if its serious enough and the baby needs to be delivered quickly. Induction can take hours or days and isn't always successful.

Sometimes you have to accept you won't get the birth you planned for and thats ok, the baby is priority here and the safe birth is what's best...whatever that may be. Wishing you the best x

what gestation did they suggest inducing you at? X

They want to induce me now at 38 weeks (literally today) but I'm booked in instead for a planned C section at 39 weeks as she's measuring big (HUGE actually haha) - it was just my preference not to be induced but ultimately if they strongly pushed it, I'd listen as they know best x

C-section mums

Since April is Cesarean Section Awareness Month, I feel like I just need to get this off of my chest.

I had an emergency c-section 5 months ago and I'm still in pain. My stitches look dry and healing okay from the outside but internally I feel like something is ripping. I wouldn't say it's painful but it sure feels uncomfortable especially when I'm moving or walking or getting up from bed or the couch.

I'm proud of other mums who had a good recovery. I admire your strength. Some would even say they feel normal after 6-8 weeks. I wonder why I don't. Is it because as a SAHM I don't really get a rest? Because I have to show up 24/7 even if I could barely stand from backpain or my stitches sting.

I know comparison is the thief of joy but I just can't help feeling sorry for myself for going through this especially during this time that I'm going through ppd and health anxiety. What if my stitches are actually ripping internally? But I just had my gp appointment and my stitches look okay and to just take paracetamol for the pain, that as long as I don't have any fever or bleeding I'm okay. I want to have an ultrasound scan just for my peace of mind but they don't simply give you that, do they? Anyone else felt the same but nothing's concerning? It's only that we have a slow recovery. I hope this is the case.

Pain & not feeling well

I’m 22 weeks and over the past few months I’ve not been able to sleep properly and when I do fall asleep I’m only getting 4 hours or less of sleep as my toddler gets up early!
I’ve had constant belly pains that feel like bad period pains! The maternity unit has said it sounds like round ligament pain (it was never this bad with my first).
Now i feel so sick, i have completely lost my appetite (I haven’t put weight on since my booking appointment) , I keep going lightheaded when I stand up, my lower back is killing me and I feel exhausted! I also have re occurring thrush/ thrush symptoms!
Does this sound normal?? I know pregnancy isn’t easy but it wasn’t this bad with my first…

Feeling a lot of pressure/ baby dropping.

So my due date is tomorrow 🙈 Just wanted to check if anyone else felt a lot of pressure/ baby dropping/ maybe even belly getting tight.
I’m not in pain or anything just feeling it and baby is moving a lot more than usual.

Is this normal, this is my fist baby 👶

39 weeks fed up now

Hi I think I just need someone to talk to, feel extremely fed up now waiting and uncomfortable. My mood and mental health has been good throughout my pregnancy but these past 2 weeks have been anxious/hormonal and upset.

What to do the night before a c-section

My planned c-section is in 6 days! I am so nervous. I’ve had an emergency c-section with my first baby, so there is some trauma associated with giving birth for me. I’m excited to meet my baby more than anything though.

What should I do the night before my c-section? I know you are not supposed to eat for 8 hours prior. What kind of meal should I eat? I was thinking tofu rice bowl with avocado.

I’m going to do a full shower the night before and then a body rinse the morning of. Did you do your hair? I read no hair products? What day should I shave this coming week? I read you shouldn’t do it the night before.

I have an OB apt on Friday, so I know I can ask these things then, but I’m just feeling anxious to plan.
