He only started really speaking a few months ago and while I know he knows a lot of things, follows instructions so well, I still can’t have a conversation with him.
At most I’ll get a couple words stung together and almost always they are just words I have said and he is repeating them back.
I try to ask him about his day or what we just did and he’ll just repeat it back. He even does it with strangers when they have said hi guys, he’ll repeat it back to them or say hi followed his own name and he’ll do this with us too.
I really thought once he started speaking that we can finally talk, but it’s just him repeating and not really responding

Speech therapy is always a good option if you feel that he is a little behind! Early intervention is never a poor choice.

I’d definitely ask your doctor about speech therapy, have they mentioned it at all up until now?
