Water Breaking

Hey! I’m terrified my water is going to break and I won’t realize it. I’m due Monday. Anyone have any symptoms to look out for?

TMI but:
- Watery discharge is normal for me and something I get randomly
- The amount of said watery discharge already varies and always smells like nothing
- I’ll also randomly get a big clump of discharge that looks like mucus frequently

Basically, a lot of the symptoms of your water breaking, I get whether I’m pregnant or not. I talked to my doctor about how to tell and he basically said the same thing. When I told him it’s all normal for me, he kinda just shrugged and didn’t say anything else other than “Oh, don’t worry, you’ll know”.

It’ll be like you peed on yourself, you’ll stand up and water will just pour out. It’ll be a lot too so you’ll know! With my daughter, I had a tear so it was more of a leak than just gushing out but it was still wayyyy more water than normal discharge! It was also pink tinted. The dr didn’t believe that it was happening and sent me home 4 cm dilated and I was 9 cm when I drove back a few hours later! Always advocate for yourself and get checked if you’re not sure :) mucous plug is also pretty obvious because it’s a ton of nasty brown/colored discharge

I didn’t have my water break on its own but from what I was told, when it does break it doesn’t stop and that you won’t be able to contain it with a panty liner or ordinary pad (like you would with discharge). It’ll keep trickling and you’ll just know…
Your mucus plug may have streaks of blood in it, that might help you distinguish… Mine was mostly clear. I wouldn’t count on that as an indicator as the mucus plug can “shed” as in it comes away a little bit at a time, multiple times before you’re near dilating. If that happens you can take pictures and check in with your midwife.

What are you looking forward to?

Ladies, what are you looking forward to doing when you don’t have a bump anymore?

Mine is being able to sleep on my stomach! I’ve never been a side sleeper so I can’t say I’ve had a good nights sleep since my second trimester🫠

I feel so bad 🥹

So I’m 27 weeks and I really don’t have much cravings but lately I’ve been wanting pork and beef. I have not ate both in over 8 years and yesterday I had bacon. I feel like I want to cry because now I want a pepperoni pizza 😭

What to do when water breaks?

So I was told when my water breaks wait at home till my contractions become regular, so try and prevent intervention (because I don’t want intervention, and midwife told me, once you go in with waters broken, you’re on their clock, which means if baby doesn’t come within a certain time they will try induce me ect)

What has anyone else done once their waters broke?

2 weeks old

Baby girl is 2 weeks old today. She’s still in the NICU but we are doing good. We are basically just waiting on her to eat by mouth instead of the ng tube now. She hit her birth weight yesterday FINALLY. Sunday she will be 37weeks so we’re hoping to go home soon.

Advice!

I was sent for a growth scan as my bump was under the 50th centile…been told she’s on the 23rd now after scan. She’s also “frank breech” has anyone else had a wee one on the smaller side and they have moved? I’ve to get 2 more growth scans and hopefully she’s moved or it will be a section! Another thing I’m dreading 🫣 my first was a svd and I was hoping for the same but I’m so nervous now incase of a c section
