How long is the longest your breastfed babies have gone without pooping? My newborn is on 10 days now with no poop, we’ve been prescribed lactulose and she’s had a days worth of doses already, just wondering if 10 days is normal. Just worried somethings wrong. She’s not crying or in pain, her belly is soft and not distended. The dr didn’t seem to suggest how long to wait before calling back and getting a referral to the peds doctor. I’m doing the bicycle kicks and massaging her belly but nothing seems to be working. So just looking for some advice really.

Until 6 weeks most babies breastfed would poop at least twice a day. How old is your baby ? How is the weight gain? How many feeds a day ? How many wees ?

It's quite unusual but not unheard of. I just don't understand the lactulose. Breastfed babies usually don't get constipated. They just poop less. Up to 2 weeks. But need a doctor review at 7 days to make sure all is ok. https://llli.org/breastfeeding-info/constipation/
I would just make sure she keeps gaining weight, stays on her growth line.

At about 2 weeks mine went 6 days without pooping but was passing wind quite regularly, my midwife said it’s not uncommon for this to happen, is she passing wind?
My sister mentioned at the time my niece went 7 days without pooping as a NB. It’s most likely nothing to worry about but check with Dr again if it goes past 14 days.
