Sure start grant

Has anyone else applied for the sure start grant? And if so how long before they received it?

Also, I am about to become a single mum with no expected help from the father. My work only pays 80% for 6 weeks and then I am dropped down to SMP. There is no way I can survive on that, I have heard i can top up my income with Universal Credit. But does anyone know the process I would need to go through, who to contact and when to do so? Or is there any other forms of income supplement or support i may be eligible to?

It would be nice to get out the house without the kids. I dont have friends that live close. So no quick meet up. No nails or shopping date. My family is messy so I keep my distance. Im honest enough to say im not everyone cup of coffee maybe someones cup of tea lol. My phone is so dry. Sometimes I just wish I had a friend or two for day like this 😕
