So due to an AI system and company restructure I am being let go. I am 20 weeks pregnant with a csection scheduled at 37 weeks due to high risk.
My husband and I are in a position were we both need to work and we were really looking forward to the paid maternity leave but such is life.
I guess my advise is how do I go about this??? I have 3 months till baby arrives and trying to find a job. How do I navigate this in interviews???
Would love the advice from those who have been in this situation. Much appreciated 🩷

Never ever disclose a pregnancy in a job interview! It’s not their business and it can lead to discrimination (which is illegal but still happens). Once you get the job you can tell them and come up with a plan together. Your personal life is not something to share with employers until it becomes necessary or interferes with your work. Again, it’s not their business

Out of interest, how did the AI system lead to job loss?

Don’t say anything but if they ask then I would disclose like if it’s evident with your bump etc

You can claim maternity allowance. Contact the job centre or universal credit

If you’re in the US don’t tell them you’re pregnant. There’s no reason to.

If you are being let go file for unemployment and get paid to be at home through your pregnancy and after the baby. Just look for jobs to meet the unemployment requirements.

Seek legal advice ASAP.

So i got fired after they found out I was pregnant. Got written up over little things and sadly gave them their out. Just be VERY careful with this.
Thank you everyone for your advice 😊
I decided to keep quite on my pregnancy till I sign papers.
