Does anyone have a friend that constantly asks for money?
I have a friend that’s a stay at home mum for over 9 years now. I’ve only just had a child one year ago.
I’m so confused as to why she asks me for small amounts of money almost every month. The past few times I haven’t given her anything because it’s just becoming ridiculous. She has asked me 3 times in the past month.
How can she never have any money. She asked me again two days ago and I haven’t replied. She’s messaged back with “????” The things is, I have a lot going on in my life and have to appear in court as a witness tomorrow, yet she’s asking me for money.
I’ve known her since forever so I hate to break up our friendship, but this is too much. I don’t know how to tackle this situation without just cutting her off.

If she’s a stay at home mom there’s possibility that she’s being financially abused or with held from all finances, i’d just gently let her know that you’re a mom and have a responsibility to provide for your child and need the money for your family.

I would probably cut them off, and gently set a boundary. “I want to be your friend, but if money is the question, I’m not the answer.” If she persists, I’d probably have to block her and let the friendship go. It’s hard, but some people take advantage of a kindness.

3 times per month is ridiculous... ask her why is she asking for money that much and if she is being financially abused or not. If she says she is not have a strong boundary and tell her thatbis way too often amd you have your own needs.
That if you want to be clear.
If you dont like confrontation you could ask her for money instead she will say no and most likely will not ask you again.. or tell her you will lend her money again when she pays you what she owes you.
If she says she is being abused refer her to resources.

She needs to find a damn job!
