Car seat meltdowns

Does anyone else’s 6 week old scream bloody murder every time they’re in the car seat? My little girl is ok until the straps tighten but once she starts she screams inconsolably until she falls asleep. This usually only happens once I’m on a motorway so short local journeys she just screams. This afternoon was the worst as it was a good 30 minutes. It’s really hard not to sob along with her and it’s making me feel so anxious about car journeys, especially ones when I’m by myself with her, but I can’t stay home all the time either. She’s quite a screamy baby anyway but the car seat is the worst as I can’t take her out and hold her. 😔

What sort of cry is it? Is there a chance she is uncomfortable from trapped wind? I don’t mean to be annoying you’ve probably thought of this it’s just that my little one cries when the straps go on if she has wind trapped xx

Yes my daughter was like this too from the moment we drove home from the hospital. It was horrendous, gave me such bad anxiety and dread going out so I can totally understand. I tried to work out what it was for months and in the end I turned the passenger airbag off and had her on the front with me. Absolutely life changing! It’s not ideal but there was serious risk of me having an accident the way she was screaming constantly. She’s 7 months now and is happy in the car, she sleeps or if she does get a bit agitated I can talk to her and keep her a little entertained

What kind of car seat is it? Would it fit an insert or cushion? Or is it already well padded? Do you have any toys, dangly mirrors or anything like that?

My little girl cries like mad when the car is warm. She doesnt like the car seat much anyway but if its warm she doesnt stop. 🙉

Boobs/breasts

At what point do the breasts stop getting big during exclusive breastfeeding 😒I am 12 weeks, and they seem to still get big. One breast seems bigger than the other ones. It is stressing me out.

How many words is good for 18 months? My child says 22 words that I’ve counted and I feel proud but is this just average lol

Wake windows a myth for some?

My baby seems to laugh in the face of wake windows. We wake around 6-7am, he might fall asleep after his breakfast feed for a little bit but his only other long nap is our lunchtime walk in the carrier. Otherwise he is awake for hours on end but seemingly quite happy.

If anyone has a newborn who also doesn’t conform to the whole 60m rule, don’t worry, your baby isn’t broken and you’re not doing anything wrong, just go with their flow!

Bassinet for newborn

Hi all! So we have a stroller (maxi cosí) but it doesn’t have the bassinet with it.. I’m wondering if it’s essential for when baby is tiny and wants to sleep.. does my normal seat being in recline mode enough for this? Thanks!
