What’s the best decision?

I have hired a venue and entertainment for my child’s 4th birthday but she’s asked for carrot and cake at home.

Sometimes big birthdays are more for parents then they are the kids, if she wants to be home then just decorate a little at home and have fun with her for the day 😊

Do both? Is there a reason she might not want a party or be worried about it?

Me personally, once my child is able to tell me exactly what kind of birthday party they want, I'm going to do just that. Within reason😭

My daughter doesn’t like people either. Her birthday was last month and we planned a party and kept asking her about it and she just wanted a small party in the house with me and her dad and her cousin. So we cancelled everything and did that instead, but kept the kids entertainer. She hated the entertainer and ran out of the room and hid until she left, so lesson learned, listen to your kids.

If you've paid for the event, then you may not get your money back. Otherwise, do what your childs preference for their birthday.

I had paid the deposit for a hall for my daughters 5th birthday party for all her school friends and she then asked if she could go out for lunch and to build a bear factory with just me and her dad instead!! So I cancelled it, she had the best day and I only lost a little ££ so it wasn’t too bad!
