Breaking point

I’m physically and mentally exhausted.
Our little boy is on day 7 of this cold and I feel like there is no end in sight. Last night he woke up 13 times because he just wanted to be held. So far tonight he is doing the exact same. He hates lying down on his own, but cannot get comfy even on us. His naps have been shocking today so he’s also overtired which isn’t helping.
He is so congested and chesty coughing but nothing is working. I’ve tried the humidifier, Vapor plug, snuffle babe rub, nasal drops, EVERYTHING.
I literally have no idea what else to do at this point 💔😮‍💨

Oh no!! You must be absolutely exhausted, especially when they start going to childcare / nursery too it’s so rough as feels like they’re constantly sick and not recovering! Unfortunately for me with colds it’s just been a waiting game, but day 7 means hopefully only another couple of days before he’s sleeping better. I would say don’t be shy with calpol / paracetamol, they can have 4 doses in a 24 hour period which I did as they probably have body aches with their cold which is hard for them to understand and so also makes them sad as well as in pain! Hopefully it will help him to nap on you as well. A warm bath can be temporarily good for unblocking and then the nasal drops straight after. It’s not great advice I know but in the next few days i do believe the 30 min night sleeps will stretch out and in the meantime feel free to message me if you’re having a particularly stressful / tired evening!

Has he had a temperature as well at all? It may be worth speaking to the doctor and seeing if they’d recommend alternating between calpol and nurofen just to help him a little more with the symptoms x
