Co parenting dilemma

So my son woke up on Saturday with an allergic reaction to something I rang 111 they gave us an appointment at the GP out of hours clinic.
Obviously the first person I tell is his dad.
I live in the middle of nowhere and I don’t drive so my first thought is ask his dad to come here and take us to the appointment.
Now his dad is charging me petrol money for Saturday and he also will not come for his son until I give him my half of the petrol money.

Is he right to ask me?
Should I be paying him even though it was for our son to get medical attention. It’s not like it was a random favour.

Or is he being a complete prick?

Sounds like he's being a dick to me. You shouldn't have to pay for him to take his son to the GP. If you were asking for yourself because you needed to get to an appointment then yeah you'd pay fuel money, but not for his son, that's ridiculous x

Honestly.. he is being a complete prick. If something is planned you can still chip in. It was an emergency. He should atleast let it go this time. But I have known people to react differently when it comes to finances.

If my partner and I weren't together and was co parenting and he tried ask me that. Id be annoyed! It was a medical emergency that's ridiculous.

Okay he's gotta pay a bit more of fuel due to that journey but that's not something I'd put a price on personally.

When he has your son does he pick him up from yours and ask for petrol then?

Yeah that makes no sense, I'd question him why he thinks he should have petrol money now when it wasn't asked when he comes other times

Ive just seen as well your other comment above. He said it was your problem?!

It was for his child not for you wtaf, how is he not seeing that

Then if you have to deal with all childcare then he shouldn't be a part of raising the child or even be encouraged to know his son.. or have any bond.. sorry to be rude. This is not right.. when it comes to medical emergencies or stuff where a dad must involve. He is clearly taking a step back.. it is not always about the goddie stuff with children. A child's responsibility comes both ways.
