Encouragement: Don’t stress about your due date 🩵

I know so many FTMs or even veteran moms hoping to “go early”, or worrying about “going late”. Just remember, your due date is a complete estimate. A baby is on its own time, not a hospitals time, and unless there’s a real emergency, there’s really no such thing as early or late! 🩵 Measurements are not perfect, and baby will come when they’re ready. I went 2 weeks “early” with my first baby and 10 days “late” with my third baby. I use quotations because both babies were perfectly healthy, average weights, and clearly just ready when they were ready. And no going 10 days “late” was not a big deal at all, just distract yourself with a hobby and the time passes. Trust your body, trust your baby, and don’t let the hospital scare you into rushing into induction for no reason. (A hypothetical “big baby” is *almost* never an emergency or need for induction..Obviously if you have a real medical emergency like a deformed pelvis or other major high risk complications, that’s not at all what I’m referring to, always be safe and trust your instinct!) But for all the typical births out there, just start preparing yourself mentally now that you could very well go at “37-39 weeks” or just as likely go at “40-42 weeks”, depending on so many factors. Trust your body, and don’t be stressed to go “early”! 🩵🩷
