I am so annoyed. Husband picked up kids from nursery (baby's 1st day).
He was supposed to pick up both from the front door but decided he wanted to pick toddler up from the back door so he could check with his teachers he'd had a good day (fair enough).
He then put toddler in the front of the car (apparantly he asked, but he never has before?) and strapped him in with seatbelt only. It is a private car park but obviosly there are parents doing pick ups and being in a rush, some do drive quick sometimes. He says no one was in the car park hardly and he drove slow to the front (which is about 6 lorry lengths long around the building) to pick up baby
I'm annoyed because
A) he put him in danger. I don't care if he went slow , he's 3.5 and ERF
B) He didn't need to drive to the front, he could have just walked
C) he could have picked up from front and it all been aoided
D) I now have to say no now to sitting up front. I ferl like I always have to be the one to say no
I've lost it , annoyed that he'd do that for no reason and I don't want to speak to him at the minute. It wasn't a big drive but his defence is it was slow and hardly anyone was there. I don't think he should have done it regardless and was a stupid choice.
Would you be annoyed?

That is a completely unnecessary risk, and it's so unsafe for your little one. If it were me I'd be SO pissed.

I'd be absolutely fuming.
If anything had happened and the airbag went off he'd be dead.
Yes and that's why I'm so annoyed
He says that no cars go fast there. I've explained even if a car bumped gently, he's 3.5 and doesn't fit in a seatbelt and I highly doubt he turned air bag off.
It's just ridiculous. Small chance doesn't mean no chance. I've told him about what I think is being pig headed about danger - accidents happen to children sometimes because adults make stupid/uninformed decisions. No one (I hope) intends to harm their child but do your homework before making a daft choice. It's also the fact he's doubled down. 😡
Those who voted 'let it slide' - would you just not have mentioned it or do you just not think he was ever put in danger?

He's stupid and anyone else who thinks this isn't an issue is as well. Sorry not sorry

Controversial, but my husband regularly drives round car parks with my boy on his lap so he can ‘drive’, and I don’t have an issue.

Id be beyond angry. Someone could loose control on the road smashed into him. Airbag goes off and your kids dead. Carparks should be safe but theyre not always because people on the main road can go off road
