Does anyone have any tips for a baby with bad reflux? My best friend has a 5 week old baby boy who has been struggling with colic/reflux. Neither of my boys had it so I have no personal experience with it to help her. This is her first baby and I don’t want to leave her in the trenches. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

Took my girl to the GPs, they had her on gaviscon which worked to begin with then stopped so went onto omeprazole which worked wonders. Other options we had were reflux formula and trying different bottles (we had mam but were recommended to try Philips avent natural response) but she was combi fed so omeprazole worked best for us ❤️

She’s probably tired it but in case not we gave my little one infacol before feeds and kept her upright as much as possible. Tummy time we used a pillow under her chest to lift her up so she’d tolerate it. She spent a lot of time in the carrier as she hated to be lying flat. She napped on my chest or in the carrier a lot. I know the lullaby trust says not to but we tilted her bassinet which also helped. She could also see her GP, ours offered gaviscon but we didn’t take it as we were coping by then. We were lucky our LO didn’t have the worst reflux and she grew out of it by about 3/4 months

Infacol didn’t seem to help much with my boy, but gaviscon powder helped loads! Eventually i weaned him down to having half doses. He’s 2 now and still a bit reflux-y from time to time

For reflux she can try either anti reflux formula or go to the GP for some gavsicon to add to babies bottles. As for colic am not too sure as I’ve only dealt with reflux and milk allergy x

My baby also has been gassy and bad reflux. His pedia recommended gas drops. He is combo feeding, we switched him from Similac to Enfamil Neuropro Gentlease. We got him an inclined lounger and had him stay at least an hour after feeding to help with the reflux. Now he's not spitting as much and not fussy anymore.
