My daughter was exclusively breastfed but had suspected CMPA (my elder daughter had CMPA also). I cut dairy out of my diet but we didn't see much difference. My daughter is now on Aptamil pepti 1 (which worked for my elder daughter) but she is still having issues (excessive gas and uncomfortable/unsettled pretty much constantly, the rash which she has on her face flares up after every feed and vomits after every feed). She is also struggling to take any more than 2 ounces every feed (and even that is a struggle). Anyone had similar issues? And what did you do to help?

Pepti contains milk still just super heat treated , speak to doctor about a different formula xx

My little one really struggled with pepti 1, we tried adding gaviscon sachets as she was being sick with it being so thin/watery but she also started having mucus in her poo and skin issues after a few weeks, we spoke to GP and she got switched to nutramigen which has been so good for her!!

They try pepti first as its cheaper but as said above it does still contain hydrolyzed milk so doesnt work for all dairy allergies. You would need to try an amino acid formula. We got put on alfamino formula which we got told cost them about £40 for a 400g tin.

If you’re still breastfeeding at all then cut out soy as well as milk
EHF formulas only really work for mild CMPA, I’d switch to an amino acid formula asap

Sounds like baby needs an amino acid formula. My daughter was like this as well she couldn’t tolerate Pepti 1 at all as she couldn’t tolerate any dairy whatsoever. Doctors are often very reluctant with prescribing anything other than Pepti 1 as all the other ones are sooo expensive x
Thanks everyone, I'm going to go back to the doctors and try to get an amino acid formula prescription. Thanks for all the help!

You might need an amino acid formula it’s broken down completely
