Induction

This is more of a rant than anything. I am due May 11. I planned on working until May 1. I’ve had a high BP reading in office before, two readings but they said the first one didn’t count (I’m not sure the reasoning why but that’s ok) a few weeks ago I left an appointment everything was fine. The next day my clinical notes are updated saying I need to start NST twice a week. I was not talked to about this in office so of course I call, and the doctor informed me she reviewed my chart and my BP readings and that led to that decision. Fast forward Easter weekend I go to an NST in then sent to LD where I am in the hospital Friday to Sunday. I go to my appointment after being released I am told to pick a day for induction within the next two weeks. Ok no problem, I inform my job I need to start leave early, make necessary arrangements. I go today, and I am informed by a different doctor I can not be induced, they legally can’t before 39 weeks. Which I am ok with but why was I told one thing now it’s all of a sudden different? She said my BP has been fine? So why am I doing NST twice a week? I am honestly so upset because I am being told different things by different doctors at the same practice. I made arrangements, missing more work, for nothing essentially. I feel the communication is lacking. I’m not upset about not being induced, I’m upset that I was told to do and prepare for something, to then be told that’s not happening and that everything. To missing work twice a week for unnecessary testing, because according to the Dr everything has been fine. I spent a weekend in the hospital, because everything is fine. I’m very conflicted.

I would definitely complain about this to the management contact of your provider. This is a disagreement and misalignment between the medical team which is causing you to suffer emotionally and financially. Mention in the complaint that you are highly concerned about the standard of care being met. You're being reasonable and following what's been recommended so you're not doing anything wrong. It's a misalignment of the professionals on your team and that is a big deal considering what you've been through so far and how it could impact your birth moving forward. Standard of care is the term that management will recognize. I'm so sorry this is happening. Sending you hugs and support! 💕
