Teething hell

Hi everyone, after months of showing signs my 11 month old finally has a tooth emerging. We can see it poking through at the bottom. For the past 2 days she has had constant poops - around 9 in 24 hours, of which overnight she is extremely gassy and seems in pain also from that. She has been inconsolable for a few hours at the start of the night and then after that is extremely unsettled and uncomfortable for the rest of the night and barely sleeping in her cot. Anyone else experience this with their first tooth?

Yes, same as you, cut her first tooth at 11 ½ months despite teething since 5 months. Very normal for digestive system to be totally off. We have these silicone dummy things that you can make fruit/breastmilk/yoghurt ice cubes for and those are amazing for bad teething days. She seems more interested in chomping on contraband than any of the teething toys we have for her.

We found that that first tooth appeared and disappeared a few times over about a week before it was here to stay. Poor things, they really go through the wringer. Chomping on celery and spring onions can help too.
