Can anyone help me with universal credit
My dad is a pensioner and my mum has been rejected universal credit now. She has a few health problems and is unable to work. What is she meant to be claiming? As the pension money is not enough to cover food and bills etc.

Hi unfortunately pensioners struggle a lot with this in terms of help from the govt, it's really sad.. if your mum is over pension age, she can try and apply for attendance allowance if she is unwell. They could also try and apply for pension credit which is for low income. All the best
It's possible she could claim pip? If you go onto this site it'll break down what shes entitled to !
My mum doesn't work due to having mental health issues and her pension doesn't cover her mortgage, so she get's pip and her pension credit.
