Positive elective stories please 🙏

My elective c section is booked for tomorrow at 41 weeks following an extremely traumatic birth with my son 3 and a half years ago that ended in an emergency c section. I've had a lot of therapy to deal with this and decided to try for a vbac this time, but to book an elective in case she goes overdue.

However, now I'm here I'm freaking out. I sat down to read all the info they've sent me last night and it's triggered something because I've gone into full on fight or flight mode, everything in my body is screaming at me to run. I can't even think about it without crying, I've cried all night and woken up crying this morning.

Please send me your positive elective c section stories, I need to fill my brain with positivity right now and try to get into a good headspace for tomorrow 😥

I’m following for the same reason.. I’m sorry you didn’t end up going into labour and got to try a Vbac. I was a week over with both my sons it’s super annoying. I’m booked in for Tuesday for my C-section! Let me know how it goes tomorrow hun. You’ll be just fine. Keep thinking about seeing your beautiful baby 🩷

Hi, I had an elective c section for my little girl last week on 7th April.

I had a similar experience to you with my first baby back in 2022, I was induced, after many days on the induction ward and 36 hours on the labour ward I ended in an emergency c section.

This time I wanted to make the decision to go elective to have some control back. I was still petrified, and always thinking the worst but I needn’t have been. Compared to my first this c section was amazing. It was so calm and relaxed, I got to meet all the doctors, anaesthetist, midwife’s etc before going down for surgery. In surgery everything was calm, I was made extremely comfortable and was talked through the entire process. I was able to get skin to skin after birth and my partner was able to cut the cord. So far the recovery has been so much better than my first too. I was up and about by the afternoon on the day of my section, and was discharged the next day. I am more mobile and have healed a lot quicker xx

10 week appointment

Hi :) first time mum here :
I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant and have an appointment with a midwife soon at 10 weeks which I was told would involve blood tests. I wasn’t sure if this would include a scan or would I have to wait until 12 weeks?
Thanks :)

Morning people

Those of you who get up early and feel awake and refreshed, esp if it wasn't a natural thing for you... How? Even if I went to bed at like 7pm and slept I could still easily sleep until like midday the next day. I've always been an insanely tired person and could sleep all day but i feel like I'm wasting my days. I also become irrationally angry when i don't get what i deem to be enough sleep (which is ridiculous seeing as I'd willingly sleep all day) I want to be one of those people who can get up early get ready, instead I struggle getting up when my alarm goes off or I'll sleep until late afternoon if I can then get up feeling groggy and unmotivated to do anything the entire day.

Name dilemma 🩷

Wanting a girl name with the potential nickname “Rosie” 🌷 I would use Rosie as a first name but it is unfortunately the same name as my LO’s sister’s pet 😭 Rosie has been my favourite name since forever

Bleeding

I'm curious to know if anyone else is experiencing changes in their postpartum bleeding? I bled normally for the first 18 days, and then it dwindled down to almost nothing for the past 2 weeks. Well, I just now used the bathroom and noticed I'm back to spotting a lil bit more. Is this normal? I'm currently a month and 5 days postpartum.

Hi!
I’m 3 weeks pp tomorrow and was prescribed this powder to help keep my incision dry. I’m not able to see my incision because of my belly, how can I apply this powder without hurting myself or making a mess?
