I literally can't cope. My baby is almost 3 weeks old.
Not really interested in feeding, I try feed every 2/3 hours some feeds are OK others he's just not interested or falls asleep or he can't find my nipple even though it's right there. I try do the bring the baby to the breast but doesn't work he fights away. His crying is loud and constant and I can't settle him so he's hungry but won't feed from me. I have him on me for hours. I have an older daughter that also needs me and I want to spend time with her too.
This is so much harder and I'm just so close to walking out as I can't sleep and day times are full on with appointments and things to do. I don't have a village. I have a amazing hubby but he's doing everything and anything to help. I just feel like a failure, failing both kids. I'm done I just want to run away
I feel so alone at times. No one else to ask help from
I don't know what the point of this post is. Just no one to offload to. I so wanted to enjoy the baby stage this time around but it's not going that way.

I just want to let you know that your a great mother regardless of how you feel. Don’t be so hard on yourself it’s never meant to be easy at all, don’t give up your kids need you. You do the best you can but always remember to REST ! Have you tried formula milk also? Babies are also trying to understand life themselves, keep trying I know it may be exhausting but it’s worth it for your children. Sending love and prayers ! 🤍

Hi, I don’t usually write back to people but this resonated with me. Have you started trying to friend people on here in your local area to build up a support network? My daughter is now 15 weeks and I had similar feelings and it did get easier but when breastfeeding I had to strip her off and do skin to skin and I found it so hard- you’re honestly not alone! I also called the breastfeeding helpline in middle of night once as I felt alone and they were very helpful xx

Firstly you’re definitely not a failure asking for help shows that you want to do anything you can to be a good mum (which you already are) but also breast feeding can be so so difficult and exhausting I had same issues with 2 of my children and I had this intense desire to ‘do things the best way’ and took a while to realise that the best way is the way that’s easiest for you and baby, i pumped and used formula and found that when he wasn’t overly hungry he’d comfort latch (latch and fall asleep) and then slowly the feeds got calmer and less tiring, you just need to find what’s best for YOU doesn’t matter the way you feed them aslong as they are fed and you can feel a little better knowing baby has a nice full tummy, try not to be so hard on yourself motherhood is hard no matter which way we do things I promise you’ll find your routine eventually. Every baby is different so there’s absolutely no perfect way to do things and please speak to a midwife/health professional for advise xx

Hey. Your doing great and your not alone.
Just a few things for you to consider.
If he's gaining weight and plenty of wet nappies hes eating enough.
If it too hard maybe trying pumping and bottle feeding so hubby can have ago or using abit of formula to top him up and dad can take a night feed whilst you sleep.
Then finally allergies and intolerance is he being fussy because the milk is bothering him my girl has cmpa and was a difficult feeder in the beginning I think i made her feel sick x

Honestly I had the same feeling when baby wasn’t feeding as well as I had hoped, I tried and tried but the stress actually made it worse. Give him some formula, once he is satiated he will be able to sleep and so will you. Try to pump/hand express when he takes a bottle feed to help build up your supply. Honestly giving my baby a bottle after trying for so long made me feel rubbish and like it was all a waste of my time and effort. But once she was full she was a diffferent baby! So happy and much more chilled out. This then helps mum be less stressed and actually allows you to drop cortisol and make more milk ❤️❤️❤️
