Baby suddenly really hungry at night

My 9mo has always woken up for a bottle at night. On very good nights this would be her only wake, but most nights she would also wake a few more times but we managed to settle her back to sleep without feeding. We had started reducing her nighttime bottle hoping to eventually remove it and it was going well - I definitely had the impression that she wanted it out of habit/for comfort rather than hunger.

Then she got ill, was not eating much at all so we continued feeding her at night to ensure she was having enough. Now since she’s been better she seems to be always hungry! Which is great during the day, having a good amount of solids and full feeds for milk, but she wakes in the night screaming and crying for her bottle, sometimes more than once, and if we try to give her a smaller amount she cries until we offer more milk! No matter how much I try to give her during the day to ensure she has enough calories she’s always hungry at night!

Anyone with a similar situation who managed to successfully remove the nighttime bottle(s)?

I has to put all 3 of my children on hungry baby formulas in the end as they were always hungry and waking up loads in the night
