Toys? Entertainment?

Hey mums, when did you get your baby their first toy? My baby is just over 2 weeks old and I’m wondering if that’s too young for toys / entertainment to keep her stimulated when she’s awake

They can't actually focus on anything yet, just sit her on your legs and sing, talk or read to her.
Toys don't really become a thing till they're 4/5 months old

My daughter’s first toy was a jellycat rabbit and she’s almost 4 and still has him with her all the time. She enjoyed the feel of it, rubbing its ears on her face and hands.

At that age, the eye sight is poor so high contrast works best (black and white).

Stimulation wise, everything helps! Taking her out for a walk in the pram looking at the sky, playing music and singing to her, baby wearing and just enjoying the sounds of the house.

I was thinking about the same thing 😂 my SIL baby is 4 months old my baby is due soon 🙏🏻 I wanted to buy some soft stimulation toys for her baby and my baby as she's flying over to visit us when her baby will be 6 or 7 months .
She laughed and said don't buy toys as babies don't need toys .
I got so upset and I don't know if it is because of hormones.

My baby is 10 weeks and is really discovering her toys now! Esp ones that make noises! She is only just starting to realise her hands can grab toys but we got a foot piano and she spends like 30 mins on it each time!

My little one really started showing an interest in his toys at around 3 months old x before that age, and even still, you are a great form of entertainment! They love your face - singing, reading, just talking to them - that’s enough to keep them entertained x

Bedtime Advice

If my 9 week old used to nap between 7-9pm and then we started bedtime routine around 9pm and went to bed at 10pm but recently has refused to sleep since 5pm until bedtime, is that a sign we should make bedtime earlier than 10pm?

Hates nappy Change

Hi Mamas,

My baby boy is 8 weeks today and has never liked his nappy being changed. He hates clothing changes and having a bath.

He screams his little lungs out during bath time and yes bath temp is perfect. Tired bathing him with me and still does like it. We’ve even brought 3 different baby baths.

Any other babies like this, any tips, fo they get better with age?
