First period after pregnancy

Hi moms! When did you get your first period after giving birth? I'm 4 months postpartum. I had an emergency C-section on December 23rd, 2025, at 28weeks of pregnancy, and I started my first period last Friday (4/10). It's a heavy flow with many small to medium blood clots, and I need to change my pads frequently. Today is day 9, and the flow is still heavy, so I have to change pads every 3-4 hours. I've switched to pants-style underwear. Should I be worried? This is my second baby; my first was 14 years ago, so this feels all new to me again.

Id say 9 days is a long time. Was this normal for you pre this birth? If its not id seek medical advise (but you may grt gaslight as some doctors are completely clueless on women's menstrual health).

I breastfed so my period wss delayed. First 5 where blood baths (litrally water red when i peed, every time) pretty much but 3 days long. But theyve now calmed down and gone to really light so that may be whats happens to you. But still 9 days is rather long so id still get checked

When do you start letting people know

I'm struggling to keep my mouth shut as I'm so excited but I don't want everyone knowing if something bad happens

Anxiety

Im on my second pregnancy and I feel really anxious that something bad is going to happen. I never had this with my first. I haven't yet had my 12 week scan and can't get it out of my head that something is wrong. Ive got no reason to think this, but im just really worrying. Anyone else feeling like this?

High BP 3rd trimester

Went in for my 30wk apt and my blood pressure was 134/73 which is high for me I’m usually low BP. Also told her I’ve been having headaches and shortness of breath lately. my doc said she will monitor it at next apt but nothing else needs to be done now. Should I be worried?

Are doctors /nurses supposed to ask?

Hey canadian moms... i have a question.... ever since my first birth i always felt like my lady bits looked a little different. Not bad per se but it feels like i had a cut and am not even aware of ut? You know that cut they do that starts with e? I did have epidural at the time so if they did cut i didnt feel it. Are they not supposed to ask me if im ok with it? This was back in 2012. I have no idea if Humber River even keeps records of it. I dont think it was done with my second birth since i dont see no visible difference but ... its kinda upsetting they do stuff without asking or telling us? I was so young and naive at the time so i would have probably caved in anyway but still. I fee like these hospitals
Rush births and it stresses mom and baby more.
