I was send home with codeine and to take paracetamol as well. Once I had finished the codeine I was taking co-codamol. My pain completely stopped/became bearable by like 2 and a half months. I’m 4 months post emergency section now and I get the odd shooting pain now and again but the actual surgery pain has completely gone away

It’s so different for everyone but mine started to get a lot better after 1.5/2 weeks but I had a horrible flu and everytime I cough and sneezed it made the pain worse but I remember my first being a lot better it was just the difficulty trying to get up off of chairs and out of beds that really caused pain

I stuck heat pads to the outside of my c section scar (not directly on it just above) which I found really helpful I think I had paracetamol ibuprofen and co codamol

Since I wasn’t breastfeeding, they sent me home with Oxy as needed (I only used as needed) and for overall pain regimen of Tylenol and ibuprofen as needed every 6-8 hours. I’d say by week 2 after c section I rarely needed the pain relief.

Also be careful how much you are doing because I overdid it and definitely paid for it later

It got better for me around week 3. I was sent home with nothing, just told to take paracetamol and ibuprofen. I'm 5 months pp now and it's pretty much painless aside from the odd stabbing/shooting pain from time to time. Everyone is different though so it really depends! Just try not to do too much as it does prolong recovery 💕

None 😅 just told to alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen at home x

I got sent home with no pain killer had to go to the doctors to get some they gave me dihydrocodeine tablets and ibuprofen it lasted for a few weeks I was able to move around but sometimes I had to take it easier on days

I was home with codeine. I was up and about cleaning the house after four days. I think recovery really does depend on the person, pain threshold etc.

I was given diclofenac and paracetamol but I’ve never experienced any pain from my emergency section (6wks pp)

I'd say 10 days you can get in and out of bed without severe pain. First time I was sent home with cocodamol. Second time nothing but that was because I just wanted paracetamol & ibuprofen.

I wasn’t sent home with anything, was told to take Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. Stopped taking them after about 1-2 weeks

It stopped hurting people around 2 weeks maybe. I got sent home with Tylenol and ibuprofen but with a small supply of oxycodone.

C section

Since having a C-section, has anyone else felt like this?

After I eat, I sometimes feel really weak and heavy, like my body just slows down and even my posture feels off. I’m about 4 months postpartum and it’s still happening.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows what it could be? 🤍

Just left hospital…

Omg just had an elective section when does the pain stop?
I’m day 1 today & although I’m moving around I’m only having paracetamol and ibuprofen which I can’t see helping! I’m so sore.
I’m gonna need to do stairs too. Also I’ve got a pico dressing any advice on making the most of that too x

Induction/epidural

For those that went through an induction did you have an epidural?

Context
With my first i didnt have an epidural until after his birth as i had a 3rd dagree tear, his birth was completely unmedicated because it was so fast.
Well anyway multiple people tried for 4 hrs to get the epidural in and failed it was so painful and my back was bruised badly for weeks, in the end they gave me a spinal.

I basically want to know if i can get through an induction (that i know tends to be more painful) without an epidural and just with other pain options or if i just opt into a cesarean

I have 12 days to decide and im stressed 😫
