C section

I've opted for a c section due to baby measuring on 94th percentile, being breech and having some medical complications. They've said it will be next Friday, I'm totally laid back so not worried. However, I'm just wondering if there's anything I need to consider? Any essentials that people would recommend for hospital bags etc? Any help appreciated!

Id say keep a good laxative to hand, keep on top on pain meds. Take it slow walking around and don't do too much just take care of yourself and baby and try get others to help around doing chores etc. I'll be doing colostrum harvesting as milk coming in can take 3/4 days sometimes but skin to skin helps.

I have packed really minimally only got some comfy nighties, nursing bras and 1 pair of PJ's, slippers and toiletries. I've added a cushion and blanket this time as the hospital ones are not that cosy and you will want to be really comfy as I don't feel my best afterwards.

All the best for your special day meeting your little one. Xx

Best of luck! I’m in the same position due to the baby’s weight 😊
For a C-section, are we supposed to bring toiletries like shampoo and shower gel? I’m not sure when we’re actually able to have our first shower after the incision. Any thoughts on that?

I just had one 10 days ago due to severe pre-eclampsia. The section itself is fine, its really important that you keep in top of pain relief, I was sent home after 24h at around 6pm and I was so tired I didnt really have a plan to alternate meds and the pain was unberable at some point, make sure you stock up of paracetamol at home, I was only given DHC from Hospital, alternate paracetamol, ibuprophene and DHC every 3/4 hours. I found that putting a pad in the incision helped when moving especially when lowering down when going to the toilet. The hospital gave me a stool softner to take 2 a day which worked really well, no pain when going N2 but after 5 days be cautious lol dont take it twice a day if dont need or yiu will have to run to the toilet uahahah. Good luck and be patient!

Anyone else having trouble balancing their daily activities while taking care of their baby?

My baby is 2 months old and I feel like I still cannot adjust to being a mom (first time mom)

Bad hospital experience

Has anyone else had a bad hospital experience? I feel like I was not listened to and was rushed out of the hospital. I had very bad cramps in the postpartum room and I was told it was normal and I should just take the Tylenol… We were discharged at 10pm and no one checked the car seat we even asked. My birth plan was not listened to and did not see a lactation consultant. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Induction??

40+4 now, my first was 41+1, and there's been zero signs of baby coming. I've had 2 sweeps and have a 3rd tomorrow, and I know they'll ask about induction. I wasn't induced with my first and haven't heard the best from friends/family but I'm getting desperate. Does anyone have any positive induction stories or advice on how to get this baby moving??

Cramping 36+5

I’ve been cramping a fair bit the last hour or so, nothing too extreme like I can talk through them. I haven’t tracked anything so honestly I’m unsure if there’s a pattern. My last birth was an induction due to baby passing at 24 weeks so unsure of what a natural labour would feel like.
I don’t want to drag me and my partner to triage unnecessarily especially at this time. Would it be wise to just wait it out and if things get worse or more frequent then go?

29 weeks 6 days

Today my July baby decided to become an April baby!
She’s a good weight and a cutie!
Don’t think her big sister will like her very much as we were meant to be going to Disneyland Paris today!

Epidural and Csections

Hi, I've just found out at 35 weeks that he is breech and I'm looking for people's opinions on C sections and epidurals. These are the only two things I didn't want 😩that I now might have to get.
I genuinely don't think I'm gonna let them come near me with that epidural needle.
