Do you wash new clothes before you wear them?

i typically always do and have been called dramatic for this😭 a lot of clothes are curated with dyes and chemicals that can be cancer causing and actually many clothes tags say wash before wear! also i think most clothes come from warehouses that could have bugs and possibly rodents lol not here to convince anyone just curious

I try to remember to wash the clothes that my daughter gets. Now the new clothes I wash by hand , the ones she’s gifted and still not worn I wash when she’ll wear them or if i remember.

You’re doing great mama!

Yes I can often smell the chemicals on them and I’m aware that sounds neurotic but it’s true!

No for me. Yes for the kids.

I think the problem is that someone is calling you dramatic. If someone is calling you dramatic they are gaslighting you. Your feelings and your clothes is your choice and it doesn’t make you dramatic. It’s just your preference and that’s valid.

When did your LO start sleeping through the night?

My mom(step mom technically) made a somewhat rude comment about my LO's sleep. They are 16 months old and still wake up every 2 or 3 hrs throughout the night. But like usually just stirs or fussing & readjusts for a minute then goes back to sleep but I of course fully wake each time. Only 1 or 2 wakes are for a longer stretch and they need help going back to sleep. My mom asked how he's been sleeping & I said the usual, still up every 2 or 3 hours and she said "jeez I've never heard a kid that age sleeping that bad" like she was accusing me of not teaching them to sleep better by now. And I just wanted to get some validation that it's just how my kid is and wanted to know if others have kids that just sleep poorly still at 16 months?

Anyone had a section?

I’m 3 days PP and just wondering if how I’m feeling is normal. I’m taking paracetamol and ibuprofen round the clock, not left the house yet, still in my pjs and tummy feeling quite bloated and my scar is very sore and hurts to cough and laugh.
Does this sound about right for the period of time? I’m constantly feeling like I should be doing more like hearing stories of people getting out and about at this stage.

Baby body wash

What’s everyone using on their babies this time. Im planning on not using soap straight away but would love some recommendations, my first baby reacted to child’s farm and nalas baby, she now uses sanex baby but it says on the packaging that it’s for 6 months and above. Any suggestions? Just worried this baby will have extra sensitive skin again

Autism or just age??

I want to be as sensitive as I can regarding this subject.
I have a 19 month old son, he’s walking, playing, sleeping, eating ‘normal’ however there is barely any eye contact, no waving or pointing at things, there’s no real words and even when he does say mama, dada etc he’s not saying it to get our attention so I believe he’s not understanding what the words mean!
We are very much in the tantrum period and meltdowns I can’t count how many he has a day.
My mum has out right said he has autism, which upset me as I believe this is my fault and I’ve let him down.
Does this warrant him needing to be checked and tested?

I’m sorry if this has offended anyone I just don’t know where to start or begin on what to do.

Thank you xx

Refusing to nap

Little one has absolutely refused to nap today. We're going on dinner time and she's been up since 7.45 this morning.

We're extremely over tired by this point - have tried putting her down for naps which she just fought until I brought her back out, tried holding her to sleep which she just pushed me away and tried going a walk into town where she was more interested in everything going on around us.

Just needed to rant really cause I'm an exhausted mummy who's daughter just keeps screaming and being upset.

Thankfully though, she's going to stay with granny tonight (it was already planned before the bad nap day) so I'm at least going to get sleep tonight.

Anyone else's little ones like to just outright refuse to nap?
