First baby

I have some questions because I don't have much experience—this is my first baby. What will happen after 40 weeks, once the due date has passed, if the baby doesn't come? Or after 42 weeks, will I have a normal delivery or need a C-section?

I think they induce you after 42 weeks

You’ll be offered a sweep around 40 weeks. If still no labour youll be offered a second sweep, if still no labour youll be booked in to induction. You’ll only be given a C-section if you ask for one or if there’s a medical reason for it

they will talk about induction but doing things to help baby come like bouncing on a ball, walking up and down stairs or a hill, eating dates, pineapple things to soften your cervix (also having sex) to move baby downward will help go vaginally, untimely use your first amendment ask a lot of questions they are there to help you and anyone not being helpful in the delivery room can be fired and asked for another nurse. First babies are the scariest for sure & having helpful people during any of it will help 20× more- I'll pray for a safe natural delivery for you 🙏❤️

Due to be induced in May!

I have a June 15th due date but it’s looking like I’ll be induced at the end of May (a very long argument is ongoing about this with the hospital but we’ll say no more!)

This is my first baby so I’m starting to panic about pretty much everything. I’m focusing on the birthing bag first… what should I take? So far I’m thinking…

For me:

-Bra for birthing pool
-Towel
-Comfy clothes
-Slide on shoes
-Toiletries (toothbrush, moisturiser, face wipes, hair clip, hair brush)
-Long phone charger
-Medication
-Portable fan
-Tens machine
-Lucozade Sport drinks and some snacks
-Peri bottle
-Nipple cream
-Breast pads
-Maxi pads/adult nappies

For baby:

-Health record (red book)
-Colostrum
-Ready made pack of formula milk as a back up
-A couple of hats and socks
-Blanket
-Newborn and older size baby grows (long & short)
-Going home outfit
-Nappies and wipes? (Seems silly but will the hospital provide them?)

If you had an anterior placenta with first baby and posterior with 2nd, did you also notice a huge difference in movement?

I was told this pregnancy that I have posterior placenta, and I noticed the baby's movements started early and I can feel them so much more than my first pregnancy, where I had anterior. Have any other Mum's experienced the same?

Which girl name?

I tend to like names a bit more unique but not weird. I like Soraya but worried about how it’ll get pronounced. Think I like it sounding RAY best

Chocolate

When did you first give your LO chocolate?

I know the safe recommendation is from 12months.

Just curious when everyone did 😃

Bleeding

My baby is 4 months old now and me and my partner have had sex a handful of times but has anyone experienced bleeding after sex or the day after? Not sure if it’s something to be concerned about or normal. I’m not due on my period either.

2nd pregnancy after C-Section

Hi everyone, I fell pregnant at 10 months post C-Section with my 2nd (currently 5w 6d) and understand that because I fell pregnant before the 12-18m mark there can possibly be some complications.

I’ve already been contacted by a midwife and ultrasound dept to say I’ll be under fetal medicine, I just wondered if anyone else fell pregnant around 10 months after a c section and how was the pregnancy / birth? And did you have a repeat section or try VBAC?
