4/5 engaged

This probably sounds so stupid but I looked on badger notes this afternoon after having an appointment this morning and it says baby is 4/5 engaged, can that mean labour is near? This is my second baby

It means baby’s head is just beginning to enter the pelvic brim. Basically 4/5ths of the baby’s head can still be felt above the pelvis so still a bit off. I was 4/5 at 36 weeks and I’m still the same today at 38+4 xx

It means babies head has only just started to enter the pelvis and 4/5ths is still palpable.

It doesn’t mean anything though some babies engage fully weeks before birth and others aren’t engaged even in labour x

Was just about to echo what Yasmin said. Typically I have read for second babies, they tend to engage in labour as opposed to before labour, so whilst the information may be interesting, it doesn't offer any real insight on your how quickly your LO will arrive xx

Hospital bag review

I’m 37 weeks and told the baby can come anytime so I got to packing my hospital bag tonight.

Ladies, please review this.

Do you think this is good enough for a hospital bag?

I also have 2 Lindt chocolate bars (snacks), L&D gown just in case and a going out outfit for when I leave the hospital.

C section recovery feeling stuck

Anyone else pp feeling stuck/ trapped?
4 weeks pp c section so I can’t get out and about and anything with a newborn is hard. Feeling stuck and frustrated in the same place on the couch feeding and contact napping. I know that’s what I’m mean to be doing but how did you get out of the feeling of being useless / stuck.

C-Section vs Vaginal Birth

Hello! I’m a first time mum to a 5 month old. I had an instrumental vaginal delivery. My preference was to avoid c-section if possible due to the recovery time, but of course would have accepted it if it was needed for any emergency reasons. Thankfully, I didn’t need a c-section.

Are any mums who had an elective c-section able to share why? This is a no judgement zone, I’m just curious is all! 🥰
