Opinion on medication

Hey guys, so I’m currently at the hospital. My water broke and I found out I’m 3 cm dilated. They’re trying to push medication on me to rush my labor and I’m trying to go the natural route. What do you guys recommend I should do !!!

Your risk of infection and harm to baby increases with every hour after your water is broken if not in active labor. it increases to be MUCH higher after 24hrs. So it depends on how long your water has been broken. If it’s been 2 hrs, I’d say okay to hold off and see if your body does its thing. If it’s been 8,10,12,etc i would listen to the professionals and not risk infection.

I agree with Elizabeth

How long has your water been broken? Are you going to use an epidural or no?
I’ve heard pitocin can make contractions more intense.

I agree with above statements. My water broke sunday at 2pm ish and it was so light I was convinced it was in my head. Hospital said to show up anyway and get checked because last thing I wanted to happen was increase risk of infection. Was told I was 1cm dilated and may be a false alarm. Still tested my pee and come to find out it wasnt urine it was labor. I got the meds by 6pm and still didnt deliver until 12:50am. So with meds that was like 11hrs. Oh and this is my 2nd kid and they say after 1st labor everything goes quicker when u have more. Again, with meds it was still 11hrs before she was out. Def rec meds.

I was progressing in labor slowly but surely after my water broke and i didnt need to be induced. There was still fluid and baby was happy. I was on an antibiotic penicillin for GBS but baby was okay throughout labor

True or false? 💙🩷

My first pregnancy I had a boy, no symptoms at all wouldn't have even known that I was pregnant. I am now 6 weeks pregnant with my second and oh my goodness I feel so rough, so tired, so drained, sick and headaches.

Is it true or have others experienced where symptoms have been different or worse due to gender? 🩷💙

Never ending appointments

Anyone else sick of getting new appointments 😅

Currently 32+6
- had a midwife appointment today
- 33+6 Fetal medicine scan & consultant
- 35+1 normal scan & consultant
- 36+6 midwife

Dates TBC;
- 2x steroid appointments
- Pre op appointment
- Anaesthesiologist appointment

- HIGHLY likely to be another scan & consultant between 35 weeks and 37 weeks

And I’m due to have babies between 37+0 - 38+0

That’s 4-5 weeks with 10 appointments that I know of 😓 more could be added 🤦🏼‍♀️ I can barely drive at this point yet I’m none stop back and forward

Weaker baby’s movements

Hi everyone,

I’m currently 38+6 (first pregnancy, low risk, baby measures at 70th percentile.

Over the last few days I’ve noticed my baby’s movements feel weaker and less frequent than usual (still there, just different). I’ve also been having period-like cramps, mostly at night or early morning, but otherwise I feel fine.

I went to triage and had a CTG – everything looked reassuring and I felt around 4–5 movements in 25 minutes (however they still felt weaker).

The doctor said it could be because baby is now very low, so movements feel different, but also mentioned a small risk that baby might not be 100% well. Because of that, I’ve been offered an induction.

I initially declined as I was a bit overwhelmed, but now I’m unsure what to do.

Has anyone experienced reduced/weaker movements at this stage with a normal CTG? Did you go ahead with induction or wait? Would really appreciate hearing your experiences

Scottish Names living in Canada

Slightly unique ask here… Scottish girl living in Canada. Would love a nod to babies Scottish heritage in the their name. Pretty set on a girls name. We’re undecided on a boys name. My husband thinks people will pronounce Ruairidh (Roo-Ree) as Rory in North America. He is nervous people will automatically call Harris - Harry!? Open to any other suggestions.

Name suggestions!

Having our 3rd little girl…
So we have Primrose who is 4, and Dorothy (Dottie) our angel girl, and I am massively struggling for another girls name.
I feel like Primrose is such a soft, vintage style name I’d like something similar but nothing seems to be sticking or going with Primrose.
So far I’ve decided on and eventually gone off; Annie, Florence, Penelope, Matilda, Maggie, Effie and Polly.
I am struggling 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️
I’d love if anyone had any suggestions x
