I told them no foley ballon and start as naturally/slowly as possible and see what happens and go from there. We started off with the cytotec pill orally 3x-no progress. Then internally 3x- water broke after the last one. I liked this option because they still let me walk around and go outside. They decided to go ahead with pitocin and I agreed. After the pitocin, that’s when the contractions really kicked in. I think I asked for the epidural about an hour after that. I should have gotten it sooner. They did a great job with my epidural, could still feel the contractions and the pressure but no pain, was able to feel to push. Once the gave me the epidural the nurse set me up with the peanut ball and flipped me around each round which I think help the progress. She also let me try to push in different positions so that’s an idea.
TLDR; have an idea of what you want and be upfront with your nurses about it.
If you want the epidural, get it with the pitocin.
