Ear discomfort on plane

Has anyone been abroad with their little one and if so do you have any tips or is there anything I can buy to prevent ear pain during takeoff and landing? We’re having our first family holiday in June with our 2 year old and our youngest will be 9 months old when we go. Feeling nervous about the whole thing and just worrying about them being in pain on the plane and if there’s anything I can do to help
