Thoughts? TW: Child r*pe

Let me preface this with saying I’m not particularly close to either mother, but that may be beside the point. I know the answer should be obvious, just wanted opinions. Would you stay friends with a mom friend if you found out that a couple years ago, her oldest son r*ped another mom friend’s daughter? He was a teen and she was a kindergartner (again, not that it matters, just adding a few details). My kids have never spent time around my friend or her kids, but the victim’s mom advised me to be careful having my kids around the other mom’s kids. What would you do and if you were to cut ties with the boy’s mom, would you explain why?
