Tongue tie

I'm just looking for people that have been through similar as the hospital just said it could be 10 days before our little boy has relearnt how to use his tongue.
He got his tongue tie cut Wednesday morning and was ok. Then about halfway through Thursday and yesterday he has been spitting up more of his bottles (we have to top up after with expressed milk after he has breastfed) we have tried slowing him down and making him take breaks and burping him more frequently. He also keeps gagging when not eating. He I having plenty of wet/dirty nappies so we know he is getting enough milk. I'm just looking for some reassurance that this is normal we are first certain he is just getting use to his tongue and this morning he has started sticking it out which is something he couldn't do previously.

Hiya, it might take a few days to adjust. Did they recommend any oral exercises to help post release? That will help with his tongue function ☺️ xx

Yes it took out LO a few days to adjust to his new tongue, we were having latch and wind issues before. Although for us it was cut at 2 weeks, then again at 8 as he was still struggling and turns out they hadn't cut enough. For us what really helped was seeing the infant feeding specialists weekly for reassurance and extra tips especially as I was sooooo sore from latch issues
