My 9m old keeps getting mild eczema flares on his inner elbows. I’ll put epimax ointment on and within a week it clears. I’ll continue the routine and a day or two later after clearing, it just comes back. What do I do at this point? Should I try hydrocortisone? For two days max?

For hydrocortisone, you need a proper plan as it is steroid. This should be explained by the GP. They tend to recommend a 7-10 day course of this. Eg apply twice a day for 5 days then once a day for 5 days.
With my daughter I found she had triggers to her eczema. Detergent, dust, certain foods, illness, teething. The list keeps getting longer and she’s now 22 months.
If you find the triggers try eliminating. If your gp advises to use hydrocortisone, then by all means do what you think will work for your baby. Eczema is really hard to manage if you don’t know the triggers and hard when you do. I hope you find something that helps x
