Modified Ferber MethodšŸ’¤

Has anyone here used a modified Ferber method (3–5–10 check-ins)?

My son is 4 months old and I’m starting to look into gentle ways to help him learn to fall asleep in his crib. I’ve seen people mention doing timed check-ins (3 mins, then 5, then 10, etc.), but I’m not sure if he’s too young or how others have found it.
If you’ve tried this:
• How old was your LO when you started?
• What was your experience like?
• Did it actually help with settling/longer stretches?
• Any tips or things you’d do differently?

Would really appreciate hearing real experiences! Feeling a bit overwhelmed with sleep at the moment šŸ„ŗšŸ’•
(We have tried DBA, Pick-Up-Put-Down). Currently co-sleeping every night and contact naps.

I tried and it was awful. Bub screamed so much. He hated being left alone in the room, he just couldn't cope. He was impossible to settle without picking him up. I decided sleep training wasn't for me.

I coslept until age 2 then moved him to his own room.

Partner snoring…

Does anyone else really struggle with their partners snoring when they are awake during night feeds?! My husband is such a bad snorer at the moment - not usually, but he’s gained a bit of weight with me during my pregnancy which he’s working hard to lose but the extra weight has made him a snorer. He is SO loud it is actually ridiculous. Snores on his back, side and front too so no relief! I know he can’t do anything about it but the rage I feel at 3/4am when I’m awake and he’s making that racket!!! Ashamed to say I’ve shoved him a fair few times during his sleep now telling him to shut up 🤣

I cannot lay him down

Any time I try to hand my son to someone or lay him down he screams and cries even when I give him to his father. It's usually okay if he can see me but the second I try to go out of the room to get something done he just screams inconsolably. Nothing is working. I need help

Sleep changes @ 6 weeks

Has anyone else experienced changes in sleep at the 6 week development leap? We were getting some decent blocks of 2/3 hours sleep and calm wake ups but this has suddenly changed to hourly wake ups (or less!) with frantic/quick escalating cries once he’s woken. I don’t remember this change with my first at such an early age!

5.30 waking

Help please. Baby is 10 months and keeps waking up earlier and earlier. Gets about 2.5h total day time sleep, but this is having to be increased due to early waking, over 2 naps. Bed usually about 7.45pm which has been pushed back from 7pm. But he’s still waking early so getting less night sleep. He spends second half of the night in our bed already but I’m pulling my hair out. We went through this a couple months ago and it went back to normal but this is been happening for past couple weeks again

He’s also started moving sooooo much during the night, rolling around and even climbing up the headboard!!

Is my baby Autistic?

So first off …I don’t want to sound like one of those parents diagnosing my baby really early on with a million things !!
But I’ve had a gut feeling I’ve brushed off for a while now because she’s literally only 6 months and my first child so..

But recently so many things have been making those gut feelings hard to ignore
My dads autistic I believe im autistic and some of my siblings are autistic 😫
I’ve gotten this far in life fine obviously I don’t go round going on one about it because what’s the point ..I cope !

But my 6 month old daughter is NOT babbling
She’ll sit there and scream high pitched for AGES not crying I mean just screams and it’ll go one for ages no breaks ..
She has laughed like 5 times? That’s it !!
And when I tell you we’ve tried everything to make her laugh ..

She has a massive reaction to miss
Rachel and I mean massive —-everyone always finds it hilarious and strange because of how excited she gets she starts doing a weird thing with her hands bouncing and opening her mouth really wide making a weird sound ..at first it was funny but now i hardly let her watch it because I was scared it was me letting her watch telly that’s rotted her brain but I’ve hardly allowed it at all?!
There’s been moments obviously I’m a stay at home mum with no family close by and my partner works 6 days a week!!
So to keep on top of everything I’ve let her watch it for 30 minutes here and there to keep her occupied …

But anyway
She’s never like that with anyone even me and her dad! It did actually upset me for a while because I felt like she didn’t love me …

She’s also been doing this crab pinch motion with both her hands at the same time whilst clapping her feet together !! it’s VERY much like stimming and she does this alll the time !!! This is the major thing my mum noticed being a bit strange …I just assumed it was normal but a few people have said it was strange

I’ve kept my feelings to myself for ages because I often think I’m just an over thinker but
Today my mum who’s always been one of those who act like autism isn’t a thing lol

Came out and outright said ā€¦ā€I’ve been thinking for a while ..but didn’t want to worry you but i think she might be autisticā€¦ā€

What do you guys think I should do..do I wait or do I go see a gp I don’t wanna embarrass myself trying to diagnose a BABY!! But the more I think about it the more my stomach tells me somethings not right and it’s harder to get diagnosed the older you get!
