About 3 weeks before the Renters Right Act came in on 1st May our Landlord issued us with a Section 21 eviction notice, with 2 months notice to leave the property but we can't afford anywhere else in the private rental sector, we are already on the housing register for our council and have been actively bidding on 2 bedroom properties since 2023.
The council advise remaining in the property until the Landlord applies to the courts for a possession order / bailiffs but we're extremely distressed by this and the worry of potentially ending up in temporary accommodation and having to put all of our belongings and furniture into self storage which is expensive.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and can advise?
P.S. We've lived happily in this property for years and always paid our rent and bills on time. We have two children age 3 and 1.
