Would it be weird?

My son was never in daycare and started preschool this year so he's loved having friends his age and something to do every day! Now that the school year is coming to an end, I'm dreading the summer for him since he wont see friends every day (his grandma will be watching him while we work).

Would it be weird to ask his teacher to put note cards in his classmates' bags to send home my phone number for play dates? What would you think if your kid came home from school with a note that said something like "So-and-so wants to see his friends this summer, here is his mom's phone number if you want to reach out for play dates!"

I don’t think that would be odd at all!

I work in an elementary school and can tell you this is not uncommon at all. As a parent I would be happy to have contact info for my kid’s friends!
