What age did you turn your child forward facing and what car seat do you have? I’m aware rear facing is safest which my son currently is but I’m just curious what everyone else is doing

My daughter is still rear facing at almost 4. Won't be turning her until she hits the limits of the seat then we'll look at a decent high backed booster with a separate foot rest.

My sons almost 2.5 and still rear facing. He has to grow about 3.5 more inches before I switch him to forward facing as that's when he'll hit the limit. So likely around 3.5 that he hits the limit (he's tall for his age though)

This is probably going to be a bit controversial but here we go... 😂 My daughter was turned foward facing thus week for the first time at 15 months old. For context, she is very tall and has always been off the charts for length, (my husbands 6ft 7 so comes from him I think 😂) she looks very very cramped rear facing and HATES her car seat... we have battles sometimes for half an hour or more to get her in and once she is in she screams the entire way. To the point where if its a longer journey we have to stop to calm her down because she goes purple and hyperventilates because she's so upset. We live in a little village so we have to use the car to get to places a lot. Honestly both me and my husband were loosing our minds with it, to the point were some days if we have to drive I won't go because I literally can't face the drama it entails 😭 Now I am fully aware of the risks, I went back and forth with this for ages did the research everything... but made the decision to give it a go and see if it made a

Difference. She is sooo much happier! No battles and no tears! She giggles and says wee, the complete opposite of what she was like! I will say that it depends on the law, I'm in the UK so the age limit is 15 months and she is well over the height limit. I will continue now with her foward facing just for both of our mental states. If she was happy in the car I would be keeping her rear facing, like I said it was not an easy decision to make but I'm so glad I did 😂

My son is very tall, over 95th centiles and he will be rear facing until 125cm or 36kg which ever he reaches first

We have the Cosatto Acorn I-size on the rotating base

My son is 3 and in the 85th percentile for height. We have him rear facing in the Axkid Minikid 4 carseat which allows rear facing up to 125cm and 36kg which is roughly 7 years of age. He will be closer to 5 or 6 I would imagine by the time he gets to that height as hes 100cm already. I'm planning to keep him rear facing for as long as I can before we turn him to forward facing as it really does keep him as safe as possible. Young children are still developing and are at risk fatal spinal injuries when forward facing before the age of at least 4. It still boggles me that hardly anyone seems to be aware of this and its not a legal requirement in the UK but there you go!

We met with an accident in January and luckily my baby was facing rear in her car seat, even though there was no major damage, my husband and I had so many minor injuries due to whiplash. I cannot imagine how my baby would have affected if she was facing forward. She did not have a single tiniest injury fortunately. I would not just recommend but I literally beg to keep your child seat rear facing as long as you can. Even though my child did not get any injury, the way her seat belt pushed her back when we were hit by the car has been haunting like a nightmare, imagine how it would be if there was an actually injury because the seat was forward facing.

My eldest didn’t go forward facing until 4. We would’ve kept her rear facing longer but had just had twins and couldn’t afford a seat that went rear facing for longer

My son is 4 in October, very tall for his age and is rear facing in an axkid minikid 4. He’s never once complained about being rear facing or being uncomfortable thankfully. Will keep him in it till at least 5 x

My little girl is still rear facing in her Axkid move and will be 4 in June. The seat goes up to 25kg/ and roughly 125cm (no strict height limit on the move as old regs) so shell be rear facing when shes close to the weight or her harness dips more than 2cm below her shoulders on the highest setting. Theres soo many seats out there to rear face for as long as poss now which is so much safer :)

Keeping her rear facing until she hits the max weight or height. Probably around 4. Shes 18 months and legally where we live she cant forward face until 2 anyways. But we want her backwards for as long as possible
