Mastitis

Have any of you ladies had mastitis and could give recommendations to help? I've not been feeling too great the last 24hrs I've now been as sick as dog. I have pain in one boob doesn't appear to look or feel any different although I am in pain.
Will ring Dr in the morning but need something to help a girl out through the night.
P.s - currently combi feeding and have just taken painkillers x

Get a cold compress on the affected side as much as possible after/in between feeding. I’ve had mastitis several times and this is the best advice I’ve had. Keep feeding your usual amount (don’t pump extra or anything like that), drink lots of water, rest as much as you can, take ibuprofen if possible, and call the doctor if you have a fever and/or any redness. Really hope you feel better soon - mastitis is grim.

Cold compress I've been applying warm only Hahaha I will switch.
I've honestly never felt anything like it I feel rotten and one side of me is killing . Popping the painkillers as we speak. Thank you for your advise x

Warm was the old advice (which a lot of midwives still give) but ice is the more recent recommendation - and I found it really helped during my latest bout when I’d only ever done warm before too! Please do call the doctor or 111 if things don’t improve soon, though - I ended up in hospital with mastitis when I was feeding my first baby - it is usually treatable at home quite quickly but if it makes you very unwell please don’t delay getting help x

what would you do if you left your 6mo baby with your MIL for a few hours, and come home to her breastfeeding your baby? (she doesn't produce milk tho)

Her excuse: the baby was crying non stop and she panicked

Do you wake your baby up from naps?

I’ve been reading so many mixed information online and I’m confused .

I read that if you shouldnt let baby sleep too long in the afternoon you should wake baby up, to make the sleep pressure stronger for the night sleep.

I also heard the classic saying “never wake a slee baby up” .

FYI My baby is 10 months old. I know a newborn just need lots of sleep so you kind of just let them do their things . But around 10 months what would you say?

Second Hand Baby Bottles?

Am I okay to use second hand baby bottles? I'm trying to introduce a bottle to my breastfed baby but so far we've had no luck. I don't want to go out and buy all the different bottles only for her to then refuse them all?

Would I be okay using second hand bottles to find one she likes and then buying new? I've been told mixed things but would just be trying her with the teats to find one she may actually take?

Ella’s melty sticks

My baby loves Ella’s melty sticks but once I open them they go stale within hours so I end up binning more than he’s eating.
I’ve tried using zip lock bags etc but I can’t keep them fresh.
How are youse storing them to keep them fresh?

Needing reassurance.

My baby is over 6 months.
He can’t sit, at all.
He screams during tummy time, doesn’t put the weight on his arms, puts it on his chest instead and superman’s and can’t roll belly to back at all, no signs.
Have started weaning, would rather stare at the wall, no interest in food at all.
Is miserable all day long, has been like this since birth.
Barely looks at us, if put in front of us, just tries to look away as much as possible.
I keep being told it’s baby things and all normal, but I feel like no milestone is being hit.
I feel it in my gut and everyone is telling me I’m being crazy that there’s something wrong.. maybe I am.
But maybe there’s someone out there who feels the same as I do?
