You could always go and get checked out or ring triage if concerned for peace of mind I've not experienced anything like this hope you get some answers 🫶

Your mucus plug can come out may before birth

I was at an antenatal class recently where they talked about this - totally normal for your mucus plug to come out early. Unless there's any other signs of labour it'll probably just grow back!!

It can grow back- phone your hospital to check they don’t want to see you x

With my first, my mucus plug coming out was my first sign, and within an hour I got contractions and I ended up having her later that night/morning 🩷

But everyone is different and I know, it can come before hand and labour might not be close at all. Ring your midwife if can x

Question for mums🌸

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and I’ve been having this sharp weird pain all the way down my crotch every time the baby moves. It feels like a lot of pressure but not like “oh he’s moving it’s pressure” pressure. It’s like a wiggle that’s so painful my first reaction is to slap my thigh😂. It feels like he’s about to escape. I’ve never had this pain before. This morning I woke up with my rib cages aching and my back too. I’m sat up straight and all I felt was something trying to escape from my crotch it was so intense and painful!!!!

What is going ONNNN did this happen to anyone else?

A little disappointed by the 16 weeks appointment 🙃

Was told by midwife we would listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks and that it would be a nice appointment to bring my little one along. Told my little one about it and she was super excited and only to find out they stopped checking heartbeats at 16 weeks just a few weeks ago! 🙃 my little one luckily didn’t react to it when she told us in the appointment but the second we got to the car, she was very upset because she wanted to hear the baby’s heartbeat!!

Birthday

Baby is turning one in September. Does anyone have any good gift ideas. We don't want to go over the top as it's not far from christmas. We would like to get a few bits, but nothing crazy.
5 did people do for a birthday party as I was looking at hiring a hall put, just because we couldn't host both families at our house. But just wondered if there was anything better than this as we would have to set up and do the food ourselves so would just be adding work for us to do

‘You’ll just know when you’re in labour’

I always hear this but starting to get concerned I really won’t! I’ve had a couple of contractions over the past few days (well I believe so). Nothing too painful or strong, enough to feel and backache and diarrhoea. The normal early labour/prodomal labour signs.

However, I have struggled with very bad period pains in the past. Time off work, prescribed painkillers, a laparoscopy that found I had scar tissue connecting my bowel and uterus. I used to describe my period pains as barbed wire being tightened around my insides.

I’d be happy to ignore all my sporadic symptoms and then if it becomes super obvious I’d go in, but because I have strep b, I need to know when I am in labour to be able to go in and get the antibiotics.

Is anyone in a similar situation with really feeling like they might not know until quite late?

I’m also headstrong in the sense that unless I’m feeling sure I wouldn’t want to bother the hospital or drag my partner out of work etc in case it’s nothing…

I’m 39 weeks exactly

Is it true you have to not eat 24 hours before a c section?

I had an emergency one last time so I had eaten a couple of hours before but the reason I’m worrying is that I’ve just gone 5 hours without food and genuinely got the shakes, nearly passed out, felt really sick and dizzy. I genuinely don’t think I can do 24 hours of it

Is anyone else struggling sooo much?!
Newborn and toddler and no "village". God I am struggling. Can barely keep my eyes open during the day, have no patience with the toddler which makes me so sad. Just have a constant tight chest and feel on edge. My days are non stop. When will it get the slightest bit easier! Toddler stays home everyday with me so I really dont get a minute break. I love this new life but god im struggling
