hi! I’m just shy of 32 weeks and have hyperemesis. I also just got a gestational hypertension diagnosis as my bp has started creeping up. It went from 120s/70s to 150s/90s within about a week but fluctuates a lot. My doc already said we’re gonna have to induce at 37, but I’m terrified of things creeping into preeclampsia territory & having to deliver at 34 or sooner.
for anyone that’s had/has preeclampsia, were there any early signs? & was there any specific trigger that moved you from “okay to monitor at home” territory to hospital/delivery territory?

i had Pre-E wirh my first. was diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 32 weeks. hospitalized at 33, gave birth via emergency C at 34+0 (literally 2am). i would just say check your BP at home and listen to your body. if it’s in severe range you need to go to L&D. as it turns out my baby was IUGR (didn’t show on ultrasound), my placenta was basically dead (was barely functioning mom to baby and baby to mom), and it was a blessing we took her out even though we had a very long NICU stay. i really started to put fluid on torwards the end but truly didn’t realize til i was in the hospital.

i had it with my first, except i did not listen to my body because i did not do enough research. i was so incredibly swollen and i only called about it when i was 37 weeks because the swelling started to be painful. my bp was 200/110, now i take my bp every day as a precaution. definitely just keep monitoring and listen to your body and your OB!

I had Pre-E with my first pregnancy, and ended up getting induced at 36 weeks. I was monitored for it during my second and currently being monitored during my third. I'm 32 weeks atm and my blood pressure has only been in the 120s-130s/80s range. So not bad but I'm starting to swell and experience some dizziness. But nothing too concerning so my C-section hasn't been moved up thankfully.
Just keep listening to your body and your doctor.

Do they have you on BP meds? I had preeclampsia both prenatal and postpartum with my first, and have GH this pregnancy but am on labetelol which has managed my BP well. No induction is on the table for me right now because everything is under control. Have they done a 24 hour urine test to check your protein/creatinine for a baseline
