I’ve made the decision today to take my babies face off social media. All my accounts were private anyway with only family and friends. I keep seeing videos of how dangerous it can be having children’s faces online and my other half has always wanted her face to be hidden.
But part of me feels like people will judge us and I feel like I’m kinda missing out as I loved sharing our little days out and her smiling face!
Please tell me I’ve done the right thing so I can switch my brain off.

I work with young people and my partner and I have decided we're never posting our child online. Purely from what I've seen in my job history and my professional knowledge!
But we've always said if we were going to post something it would be blurred and edited and heavily vetted who saw it! There's ways around it if you still want to post to certain people 😁
We've also planned not posting it off all meta platforms just due to the current rise in issues with using AI to make inappropriate images!
But I think trust your own gut, you're the parents and it's your choice at the end of the day! 😁💕

I am also not showing my baby's face on socials. We have this app called FamilyAlbum where we invited some family members we want to share pictures with and only they get to see them. It's quite good as they can comment on there but it's private. Xx

I posted my baby once when he was born but never again. I’ve since deleted that post after doing research. I’m really strict on who my family send pictures of him to as well. They think I’m OTT because I won’t let them send pictures to their friends but why do they need to see the baby?
I think you’ve done the right thing

We use an app called “back then” and have our close friends and family on it! It’s a really good way of keeping family updated without it being on social media x

Ultimately, it's up to you as the parent and others should be respectful of your boundaries. Try not to concern yourself with how others may feel.
I personally don't post any photos of my children online because of the research I've done where images can be manipulated in frightening and sickening ways

We don’t post faces online, backs of heads of hands etc. but not faces.
Why would someone judge you for it?
It’s your child and your decision at the end of the day.

I've always kept my kids of social media but sometimes post the back of their body. So you can still share days out doing that x

We decided just before our boy was born that we weren't going to post him publicly, so instead we made a WhatsApp group with all our friends and family (the ones we trust and are close enough to) where no one else can reply, only react to photos and videos from me and my partner. It's a great way to share with the people who matter but keep little one safe! We also chose the option for media to not be set to auto save for people too. The only reason we switched off replies is cos both our mum's would spam everyone with replies constantly to every single photo or video so it's for other people's sake 😂 but you can leave replies on obviously if you want as well! Just found it's been a great option for us and still allows us to share privately in one safe space! 😊

My boys not on socials, too many weirdos, the photos are online forever and they can’t consent 🤷🏼♀️
Tbh tho call me cynical but I think people just post their kids for attention and likes
