Breast feeding AND bottle?!

Heyy mama’s, I need some help or advice or even some experience. I’m expecting in about a month and my husband wants to help with feeding so I’m not getting up every 2 hours. I am going to be breast feeding and pumping as well and he wants to help bottle feed (breast milk) in-between so I can get a bit of sleep. Do you think bottle feeding might make the little one not want to breast feed? Does it usually work out to do both? Should I avoid mix feeding? Not too sure what to do..!

We introduced the bottle from about 1 week in and baby has had no issues going between breast and bottle. His latch wasn’t 100% right in the beginning and my nipples were bruised and cracked but since going to see a breastfeeding specialist his latch has been absolutely perfect since and breastfeeding has become so much easier for us. One thing they did mention was to keep with strictly breastfeeding at night as that’s when we’re producing more milk so baby is getting all the good stuff from the breast on demand! We use Tommee tippee natural start bottles with a 0 teat and we’ve had no issues so far 🫶🏻

I’m sure it varies by child but it’s very common. I did both (I had to, for going back to work at 12 weeks, and because my daughter took a while to figure out breast feeding and was losing too much weight otherwise.) It was absolutely fine - to begin with (asa newborn) I did some mixed feedings (started with nursing, pumped the rest once she got tired then bottle fed that.) by about 8 weeks I established a clear routine with her and she had no issues with either. Only thing of note was past about 6 months she wouldn’t take the bottle from me anymore (only boob), but was fine with it from everyone else.

Think it varies by child. Ive breastfed and pumped for my wife to bottlefeed since a few days after birth. We brought the MAM bottles and she loves these. She's now 3 weeks and happily swaps between them no problems x

Has anyone used one of these?

A coworker suggested one of these for our flight this weekend to Canada. Was wondering if anyone used one and if it was useful or not. Do airlines allow anything like this??

Am I a bad mother?

My daughter has been crying inconsolably before every feed and when checked with my paed, she suggested antacids as this could be acid reflux. It has slightly improved but the routine has become very hectic for me - feed every 3 hours, before every feed have to calm her down or half asleep, feed takes 45 mins to 1 hour, keep her upright for 20-30 mins, pump my breastmilk.
This has been the routine since more than a week now and I am feeling super super exhausted. Due to the exertion, I decided to switch to formula and not rely on my pumped milk.
Does this decision make me a bad mother ? Is there anyone else too who faced this with their 3-4 months old baby.
I feel so helpless and overthinking every decision and action for my baby.

Breastfeeding and weight gain

My baby boy is 5 weeks old and since we have been home from the hospital (4 weeks) I have been exclusively breastfeeding. I was told I had to give him formula in the hospital as they wanted to track exactly how much milk he was receiving and I had to write down every feed, and how much baby was taking. Baby was weighed yesterday and he’s gained on average 20g a day when it should be 25-35g per day so on the lower end and now I’m worried my baby isn’t getting enough. Should I pump and give him a bottle too? Any experience or advice please? Xx

Milk refusal and sleep regression

Anyone else going through this right now my baby is so alert in the day he won’t sit still for long enough to drink more than half his bottle unless he’s about to take a nap. But then extra hungry at night so waking every 2/3 hours for milk. It’s killing me im a zombie I’m so tired. When it gets to 5am I just let him sleep on me just to get some consistent sleep! Tips welcome!!
