Trapped gas

My little one is 4 weeks old and is suffering alot with trapped gas on an evening. We do the bicycle legs etc and she does get them out but causes her alot of pain.
Could it be her formula, bottles??
Any recommendations to ease her discomfort would be greatly appreciated ❤️ x

My little one had a similar problem when she was a newborn and it happened to be the formula it was Cow and Gate, I switched to Aptamil and she’s fine now. I suggest you try and change the formula gradually and book doctor’s appointment x Hope this helps

It could be several things - latch, tongue tie/oral function, bottle, teat size, formula, how you’re feeding, how regularly you’re winding and likely, a mixture of a few things not just one.
Often symptoms increase as milk volumes increase, with week 4 being a prime time for that. Also baby’s are good at compensating, but to a certain point.
An osteopath could help with physical things affecting feeding but it’ll be more worthwhile getting a feeding assessment first, to see why there is so much air being ingested. If you can go private, you want someone who knows what good oral function looks like, which can be hard to find.

So you think babies are smarter with?

I had a first time dad say babies that's breastfed have a 3% iq higher than a baby that's being formula feed. I told him it don't matter if they are breastfeed or formula feed it depends on the parents if they are teaching them and sI ending time with them vs just putting them in front of a tv or tablets. He said I sound stupid.

Experience with not circumcising

Hi!
Having my baby boy any day now. My first is a girl and in a way that felt easier for the sake of feeling like I know what comes with being a girl. Me and my partner decided not to circumcise our son but everyone I know has been circumcised or circumcised their sons. I understand why people do circumcise it but it’s not something I’m comfortable with and don’t want to for the sake of “everyone else does it”.

Can anyone give me advice or tips or what to expect with not circumcising their sons? Feeling lost and anxious over it.

TIA!

Does your baby wake up

I have a 4 month old when he is sleeping dad and I will start having sex. Since the baby was born he will wake up almost every time. He’s usually a hard sleeper.
Is this normal? If this happens to you is your baby a boy or girl?

Hey mommas

For my anxiety ridden, overthinking mamas….. how do y’all function? Like I’m serious. Idk if there’s a medicine I can take to relax or just pray it out of me…idk…..but I notice EVERYTHING. Every smirk, every loss of eye contact, every text that i may be interpreting wrong… all of it. Overthink and just become filled with anxiety. My simple interactions turn into “why did they say it like that?” Or “they must be thinking badly of me or they don’t really like me.”

I knew it was bad this morning when I asked daycare if they need anything else for the grad party tomorrow. The response was kinda strange to me so I assumed she must not really want me to come and that maybe I should buy something else today to give to make things better. Like ………………….

Sleep training guilt

We've just sleep trained our 4.5 month old and it's worked really well. Gone from 4-5 wake ups each night with needing to feed back to sleep + nerve wracking transfers, to 10.5 hour sleeps with minimal stirring and no crying to sleep. He's a happy boy during the day too, and goes down for naps fairly easily in his cot too.

We did NOT use the cry it out method, but still why does social media shame me and make me feel like the worst parent ever 😥 there are so many nasty comments about how I don't love my son if I chose to sleep train him and how I've created attachment issues, despite no research suggesting that whatsoever.
Sorry, just came to vent ☹️
